Jeff Burd Scholarship
On February 12, 2004 The Chiefs Ice Hockey Club lost one of their most beloved players, Jeff Burd, who passed away while fighting bacterial meningitis. His efforts and dedication to this organization were true characters of sportsmanship. Our prayers and thoughts are continually with the Burd family as they go through a difficult time. We Will Miss You Jeff.
In honor of Jeff, the Cherokee Chiefs Hockey Club donates $1000.00 annually to be awarded as a scholarship to one of our graduating seniors. The scholarship is awarded based upon academic achievement and participation in the Hockey Club.
